Welcome to Gutter Bling 3. This series of Dan Petley's popular Gutter Bling series is to be shown in the Victoria Sewart Gallery of Contemporary Jewellery at the Barbican, Plymouth. It will be featured in the show called 'Sustainable Style', which opens on 17th November 2008.

Sometimes, the discarded items that are accumulated, manipulated and correlated in the manufacture of Gutter Bling, seem to be fulfilling their destiny by taking part in this process.

The underlying theme in this new series has been the infliction and ascription of fortune into objects in order to give them a meaningful significance to the wearer, who is invited to ask, 'Have these spiritual properties been contrived, or merely highlighted in this work?'

It is Dan's sincerest belief that by carefully choosing which piece of Gutter Bling to wear, he can positively effect the events that he is involved in throughout the day.
