Badgeworth
was formed in 1997, when two brothers (Bradio and
Chadio, the original creators of the extreme water
sport Coastal
Rolling) re-discovered the brilliance of a near-by
village - Badgeworth. They fell in love with the bustling
village and tried to capture the excitement and buzz
of the place with music.
They started to write poetry about the village and
when it came to put music to the words they turned
to the computer to create their sound.
After creating their first PIECE - "Welcome to
Badgeworth", they realised that they had discovered
something new and great. Something that no-one else
had ever done before. They could not call this new
sound "Music"; they had to think of a new
name for this newly discovered genre. They decided
upon "Liono".
A full album (titled "forest of liono")
of 7 tracks was created, following up the single release
of "you have just improved your life". This
album contained the classics - "Buh", "Stanley"
and "I HEAR LIONO" among others.
Alongside this liono explosion, Badgeworth seemed
to grow also. Posters
were left around the village advertising various businesses
that were moving into the vicinity. There was a huge
excitement around the village.
Badgeworth tried to distribute their new sound by
placing advertisements in various music magazines.
But there was no luck.
Eventually, after a lot of hard work and having sold
no records. The band went on a long term break. Along
with the break in liono, the business that was promised
to move into Badgeworth seemed to disappear. No one
ever found out what happened to the planned "Badgeworth
Records", Prison, Mental Institute and Weapons
Testing Facility. Although, some of the posters were
taken down by Alan and kept as souvenirs.
In this period, there was the occasional solo effort
by each of the brothers, but none seemed to capture
the original essence of Liono.
These inspirational recordings remain a powerful reminder
of the original manifestation of Liono.
You have just improved your life.
