Here
is a selection of examples of my painted work from 2006 to the
present. Some refer to me as a ‘photo realist’, but
I prefer my work to be described as being ‘contemporary
baroque’, as I have developed a style in which I work from
small images and add subtle painterly effects that develop identity
in the characters that I feature in my large canvases. I have
developed a distinctive colour scheme in my work, which both grabs
attention and invites the audience to feel a detached empathy
for the compositions that stem from literal meanings into a ravishing
experience that is carefully staged yet open to interpretation. |
